A Web-to-Mobile Bridge for Education, Inventory, and Tech-Driven Growth

BACKGROUND - Admin Central

Our objective was to create a comprehensive solution for B2B cannabis businesses that addresses operational challenges such as lack of education, inventory management, and technology adoption. By connecting a web-based form to a mobile app dashboard, we aimed to enhance customer experiences and streamline business operations.

CHALLENGES

Our challenge was to develop an intuitive platform that tackles the following issues identified through interviews with B2B customers:

- Education: Provide accessible educational resources to accelerate sales transactions.
- Inventory Management: Improve inventory management and communicate product value propositions effectively.
- Technology Adoption: Create a user-friendly system to help businesses leverage technology in addressing operational needs and linking inventory data.

SOLUTION

Admin Central is a web-based platform that leverages Airtable's relational database features. This centralized hub enables internal stakeholders to manage ad schedules, efficiently rotate ads, and create targeted opportunities for reaching mobile app users.

USERS

In addition to internal stakeholders, Admin Central is designed for B2B cannabis brands, dispensaries, and delivery services, seeking to customize their online presence, and manage their inventory.

MY ROLE

I oversaw various aspects of the product development, including business strategy, design and branding, and project management.

Phase One - Input

A responsive vanity page and product input editor that allows brands to input and edit their shop information, manage offerings, and store hours.

Phase Two

We incorporated third-party relational databases for reference ID management, building a robust, scalable framework to streamline editing. An in-house admin editor was also developed for ad management and list editing within the mobile app.

In alignment with the company’s strategic vision, we developed an ad dashboard feature within the mobile app. This enabled the company to produce educational content accessible to users. The dash also allowed partners to advertise their products based on geolocation, with the ultimate aim of tailoring product recommendations to individual user preferences. Given the importance of this feature, meticulous management of the dashboard was essential to assign education, monitor active ads and show upcoming promotions.

 

We explored various approaches for ad management, ultimately settling on three distinct categories within the Data View. To enhance user experience, we implemented a top-to-left hierarchy, ensuring clarity and ease of navigation through the app's intuitive icon-based interface.

 

For editing the different lists, we maintained consistency by utilizing the same system. This allowed administrators to seamlessly navigate through individual categories, ensuring efficient management across the board.
