Leveraging Apple Watch Functionality for Real-Time Notifications and Improved User Engagement

BACKGROUND - Blenddy iOS Watch Solution

The Blenddy iOS Watch project aimed to create a unique tracking app that took advantage of the Apple Watch's features, distinguishing itself from other apps in the market. By focusing on the wrist-worn nature of the device and its notification capabilities, we sought to improve user engagement and experience within the cannabis industry.


CHALLENGES

Our challenge was to develop a solution that would take advantage of the Apple Watch's unique functionality, while addressing the specific needs and challenges of cannabis users. This included creating features that could accommodate the shelf life of cannabis products and improve user engagement through timed notifications.

SOLUTION

We designed an iOS Watch app that utilized real-time notifications to alert users about product availability and remind them to record their sessions. This approach successfully addressed the shelf life issue and significantly improved user engagement, with an 8X increase in recording completion rates.

USERS

The Blenddy iOS Watch app targets users who are already familiar with the Blenddy app, providing them with additional features and functionality that enhance their overall experience within the cannabis industry.

MY ROLE

As the Lead Designer and Product Manager, I was responsible for driving the design and development of the iOS Watch app. This included gathering user feedback, analyzing data, and formulating strategic plans to improve the app's features and functionality. My efforts ultimately resulted in a significant increase in user engagement and overall project success.
